Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to help! Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to assist.

What should I expect in the first session?

Your first session is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other. The conversation will focus on concerns bringing you to therapy, your history, and your goals. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and see if the fit feels right.

How long are therapy sessions?

Standard individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes. Family and Couples therapy sessions are 50-60 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed.

How often will we meet?

Session frequency will be assessed and recommended in the first session. We can adjust frequency based on your needs and progress. Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly or every other week, depending on symptom needs and the client’s scheduling needs.

Do you offer online or telehealth therapy?

Yes, our team of experts offers secure video sessions for clients, using a HIPAA-compliant platform.

What issues do you specialize in?

I work with a variety of concerns, including:

  • ADHD / Inattention / Poor Impulse Control
  • Anxiety / Stress Management
  • Confidence / Self-Esteem
  • Depression
  • Parent Support / Parent – Child Communication
  • Trauma & PTSD
  • Family and Couple Relationships
Is therapy confidential?

Yes, all sessions are confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as risk of harm to self or others). Your therapist will explain this fully in our first session.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are considered out-of-network providers with all insurance companies. This means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a monthly superbill (a detailed invoice) that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network coverage / benefits. If you’re unsure how to navigate this process, we’re happy to assist and will answer all of your questions.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A client can access our secure Client Portal system 24 hours per day to request, cancel, or request a change to the status of their session. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to the full session fee.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can help whether you’re navigating a crisis or just want to better understand yourself. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or curious about growth, therapy is worth exploring.
